AUSTIN, Texas June 8, 1998; Concur System Technologies will display their Cyber Acquisition Systems at the Embedded Computing Shows on June 16th in Santa Clara, CA and 18th in Irvine, CA. Concur combines web, data acquisition, and PC technologies to collect and transfer data and maintain systems across the Internet and intranets at a low-cost. Concur's CyberNode is the first in a family of products that provide a superior method for collecting data from manufacturing floors, remote sensors, process control systems, and device networks by allowing the information to be viewed on HTML pages, using industry-standard web browsers. The CyberNode is a web-server-enabled data acquisition system that supports common Internet interfaces and stores HTML pages, ActiveX controls, and Java Applets. Its scaleable architecture allows expansion using PC/104 I/O and stackable sensor interface modules. Concur's products are an ideal fit for applications that require remote monitoring, control, and maintenance such as data logging, environmental monitoring, medical monitoring, home automation, security, flow measurement, industrial, and chemical processes. The Embedded Computing Show is focused on embedded applications with moderate to high performance computing needs in OEM markets. These include medical, defense/aerospace, gaming, industrial control/automation, vehicular control, vending machine, instrumentation/data acquisition, and many more. This show will cover 22 North American cities and 20 European cities in 1998. The arrival of Motorola's PowerPC, DEC's Alpha, Microsoft's Windows NT and many other technologies has caused what was once termed "Industrial PC's" to have a new utility for embedded applications. These applications include industrial automation, vehicular control/maintenance, intelligent vending machines, medical instrumentation, and many more. Because of small and flexible form factors, easy development path, relatively low cost, as well as familiar O/S and programming environments, these products are addressing an ever increasing number of embedded applications.
